As expected Chanderpaul played very resposible innings and scored 126 (11×4, 3×6), along with Nash (74) be made good partnership. in result West Indies scored 307 in the first Innings.
In the first Innings bowling side IE O’Brien has taken 6 west Indies wickets. Which is good sign for New Zealand team. End of 2nd day New Zealand scored 145 runs after loosing 2 wickets. TG McIntosh and Flynn scored over 50 runs.
India batsmen Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid compiled a record 314-run partnership before spinner Graeme Swann led an England fightback in the second Test on Saturday.
Opener Gambhir top-scored with 179 and Dravid stroked 136 for his 26th Test hundred.
The pair recorded India’s highest second wicket partnership against England on day two of the final Test.
India were 453 all out late in the evening following a slump after lunch in which the last nine wickets fall for 133 runs.
England openers Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook walked out to face nine remaining overs, but play was called off due to bad light.
Swann, playing in his second Test, triggered the slump with three wickets for 10 runs after removing both the set batsmen to finish with three for 122.
India in a superb position thanks to an unbroken stand of 173 between Gambhir and Dravid. Gambhir has made another century and Dravid was finally found some form, although it’s been a fight for him. England have largely bowled well, but for just one wicket. Gautam Gambhir cracked his third century in four matches and Rahul Dravid marked his return to form as India recovered from a shaky start to put themselves on course for a huge first innings total in the second Test against England on Friday.
It has really been good day for New Zealand’s by restricting the tourists to 258 for 6 on a batting deck but it has been an outstanding batting display from Chanderpaul not to mention new boy Nash contributing. It was a solid fielding display from New Zealand that they will look to take in to tomorrow but Chanderpaul is the danger man standing on 100* and going strong.
On Bowling side Brien and Vettori shared 4 wickets of West Indies.
The third day ends with Australia holding the advantage. They began the day with the upperhand and took the last two South African wickets to secure a lead of 94. South Africa’s bowlers, however, fought back and struck at regular intervals. They had succeeded in restoring the balance by reducing the hosts to 4 for 88 and 7 for 162 but this unbeaten 66-run stand between Haddin and Krejza has taken the lead past 300.
